Team USA started off strong with its 11th gold medal at Milan Cortina, breaking its record for the most gold medals in a single Winter Games.
Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo won his sixth gold medal at became the only athlete who has won six medals of any color at a single Winter Games. The U.S. missed out on podiums in women’s curling and men’s speed skating mass start, but American Mia Manganello won bronze in women’s speed skating mass start.
Kaillie Armbruster Humphries and Jasmine Jones won bronze for Team USA in two-woman bobsled.
The day ended with the figure skating exhibition gala, where Team USA’s figure skaters performed for the last time along with their competitors around the world.
