Fresno City Baseball had an extraordinary performance against Cerro Coso College with a 22-2 victory at the Sports Complex Baseball field on Feb. 3.

Going into the game, the Coyotes were 3-2.

Unfortunately the team was only able to score two runs in the seventh inning. At that point the Rams were up 10 runs.

In the last inning, ending the game, the Rams scored with 10 runs and five hits. Mason Berlinger earned the win for the Fresno City College Rams.

After this huge victory for the Rams, head coach Mitchell Karraker was beyond happy with the team’s work.

“We want to keep replicating this success into our future games and keep our bond strong,” Karraker said.

Implementing that success, Jace Davies, majoring in kinesiology and playing center field, said, “We had a great play, I have a goal to become a gold glover this season, and our team as a whole wants to make it to the state championship.”

During the next eight games, the Rams scored a total of 69 runs. Overall the Rams have scored 112 runs on the season with a perfect record of 13-0.

However, their game against Porterville on Feb. 20 was the toughest challenge for the Rams so far this season.

The Rams scored one run in the first inning and Porterville answered with two runs in the second inning.

The next five innings were scoreless until the Rams tied up the game in the eighth inning. With a scoreless ninth inning, the game went into the 10th and 11th scoreless. With the crowd restless, outfielder Jace Davies homered on a line drive into left field that won the game.

As of the time of writing this article, the Rams finished their three-game series against Porterville with another dominating 10-2 win.

The Rams next game is at home and is on Feb. 24 against College of Sequoias.
