Two Injured After Plane Make Emergency Landing in Park

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2025) — A pedestrian at Heartwell Park in Long Beach was one of two injured when a small plane made an emergency crash landing Tuesday in the soccer fields.

The plane reportedly landed hard into the park located at Woodruff Avenue and Carson Street around 4 p.m. on Oct. 21st, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

Paramedics responded and located the pilot still in the small aircraft that was resting on its belly with broken landing gear. However, the airplane’s fuselage was intact. Meanwhile, a woman in her 40s who was at the park was struck by the plane or debris during the crash landing.

Firefighters removed the elderly man who was piloting the plane and transported him and the unidentified woman to a local hospital with moderate injuries, police said.

The NTSB and FAA will investigate the cause of the crash.
