Actor Bill Duke will be honored with the 2,837th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on his birthday, February 26, 2026 at 11:30 am PT at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard. Duke will receive his star in the category of Motion Pictures on his 83rd birthday. Joining emcee Steve Nissen will be Actor/Walk of Famer Glynn Turman, Jeff & Nicole Friday of American Black Film Festival and Nice Crowd and Nathalie Duke, President of Duke Entertainment.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the legendary Walk of Fame for the City of Los Angeles and has proudly hosted the globally iconic star ceremonies for decades. Millions of people from here and around the world have visited this cultural landmark since 1960.

actor and filmmaker Bill Duke to the Hollywood Walk of Fame during Black History Month for his decades long contributions to film and television both in front and behind the camera,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer. “His star ceremony will bring together colleagues, friends, and fans to celebrate Mr. Duke’s influential career and enduring legacy in Hollywood as well as his special birthday!”

Bill Duke is an award-winning actor, director, producer, and humanitarian whose groundbreaking career spans more than five decades of cultural impact and creative excellence.

A recipient of the Directors Guild of America Lifetime Achievement Tribute and now a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, Duke is celebrated for iconic performances in Car Wash, Predator, Commando, Black Lightning, and Get Rich or Die Tryin’, and for directing landmark films including Deep Cover, A Rage in Harlem, The Killing Floor, and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. His work has consistently pushed boundaries, amplified underrepresented voices, and shaped generations of film and television.

A graduate of Dutchess Community College, Boston University, and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Duke has long fused artistic excellence with a deep commitment to education and mentorship. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Widener University, served on the Board of Trustees of the American Film Institute, and was appointed by former President Bill Clinton to the National Endowment for the Humanities and by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California State Film Commission.

As Founder and CEO of Duke Media, Younite Network, and the Duke Media Foundation, Bill Duke remains deeply committed to mentoring creatives and expanding access to the art of storytelling, media education, and financial literacy.

Expanding his legacy, The Bill Duke Experience, powered by Black-owned technology group Push 2.0, will tour a cutting-edge, immersive digital exhibition beginning this fall. In parallel, the Bill Duke TV Channel is now streaming on the EZ Way Network, featuring empowering programming and fan-favorite films from his career. Additionally, a new partnership with the JaroGo Network will introduce original and educational content on its platform that embodies Duke’s bold creative vision and enduring mission to inform, inspire, and uplift.
