BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield police have released statistics regarding calls for service to the communications center in January 2026.

On Wednesday, Bakersfield police posted the crime statistics for the month of January 2026 on Facebook.

Bakersfield Police Department’s communications center received 52,084 calls in the month of January, and 21,188 of those were 911 calls, according to officials.

Two homicides and 162 domestic violence incidents were recorded in the first month of the year. In total, 1,116 people were arrested throughout the month of January, according to police.

Police said over 185 stolen vehicle incidents were reported, along with 113 burglaries.

Sexual assault incidents reached a total of eight in the month of January, and police said they arrested 56 motorists for driving under the influence.

The Bakersfield Police Department also said they responded to 86 aggravated assault incidents.

In comparison to December 2025, the department received 20,385 calls to the emergency 911 line. Among those calls, 146 were for vehicle theft, 123 were for reported burglaries and 43 robberies were reported.

One less homicide occurred in December compared to January, according to police. Police also reported 86 aggravated assaults and six rape incidents in the final month of 2025.
