A Santa Clarita pizza restaurant was evacuated Sunday after several explosions occurred beneath the restaurant.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded at 12:06 p.m. Sunday to reports of a vault explosion outside Toppers Pizza at 23710 Valencia Blvd. Firefighters then reported hearing additional explosions at 12:14 and 12:16 p.m., authorities said.

The explosions were caused by an electrical vault located on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, authorities confirmed.

Southern California Edison was notified at 12:21 p.m. and responded to investigate and fix any issues.

Firefighters said there were no reports of smoke or fire, and no apparent injuries.

The restaurant was evacuated and power in the surrounding area was shut off. An employee at Toppers Pizza told City News Service that the restaurant would remain closed for the rest of the day.
