Airlines Aero-Mexico and Volaris have canceled flight arrivals and departures from Guadalajara to Fresno.

The cancellations come after the Mexican army killed the leader of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Nemesio RubĂ©n Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho,” in an operation Sunday.

The U.S. Embassy says U.S. citizens in: Jalisco State, including Puerto Vallarta, Chapala, and Guadalajara, Tamaulipas State, including Reynosa, areas of Michoacan State, Guerrero State, and Nuevo Leon State should shelter in place.

Fresno Yosemite International is encouraging passengers to check with their airline for flight updates.

American Airlines and Delta Airlines have warned passengers their flights may be impacted, while Alaska Airlines is offering a travel waiver to those impacted.
