The Read offers rooftop amenities and transit access near Metro and the 10 Freeway.

New housing has opened in West Adams with the completion of a mixed-use apartment building at the intersection of Redondo and West Adams boulevards, developer CIM Group announced.

The project, known as The Read, consists of 75 residential units above approximately 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space at 5217 W. Adams Blvd. The six-story building takes its name from the cross streets that frame the site.

The property offers one- and two-bedroom apartments featuring wood flooring, quartz countertops, large windows, and in-unit washers and dryers, along with contemporary finishes throughout. Resident amenities include a rooftop lounge equipped with barbecue grills and a fitness center.

Located in the West Adams district, the development sits within walking distance of restaurants, retail storefronts, and cultural venues that have emerged alongside long-established neighborhood businesses. The area is known for its historic architecture and growing dining scene.

The site also provides access to public transportation and major thoroughfares. Residents are within reach of the Metro light rail system and the 10 Freeway, offering connections to downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Culver City, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood.

The Read is situated within a federally designated Qualified Opportunity Zone, an area eligible for certain investment incentives.
