SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new work week, we’ve rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday through Monday to prepare you for Tuesday.

But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, residents should expect dry conditions to start off the work week before rain returns to the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Above normal temperatures and dry conditions today,” NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. “Widespread rainfall returns tonight into Tuesday. Warming and drying trend kicks off Wednesday.”

In other news, a body found off a Bay Area highway may be linked to a man’s abduction; a man was arrested after he attempted to rob a high school student at a bus depot; a driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after their truck struck another vehicle and then a house; two people were hospitalized after being assaulted; and a series of earthquakes rattled the Bay Area.

Also, the bodies of nine backcountry skiers who were killed in an avalanche near Lake Tahoe have been recovered, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. Dangerous weather conditions and continued snowfall delayed their recovery until operations could resume.
