BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man accused of breaking into a parked car before being confronted by the vehicle’s owner, who was in the driver’s seat.

The incident took place in the 2700 block of Q Street during the morning hours of January 7th, 2026.

The man allegedly forced entry into a parked vehicle and was confronted by the vehicle owner, who was seated in the driver’s seat.

The man left the area.

The man is described as a man, about 70 to 80 years old, wearing a black sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.
