The driver did not stop, Martinez said.

Valle was ejected into northbound lanes and was hit by a second vehicle that also left the scene, according to the lieutenant, who said descriptions of the vehicles were not yet available as detectives were only a couple of hours into their investigation.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced Valle dead at the scene, according to Martinez, who expressed his condolences to the rider’s loved ones.

The crash response and investigation temporarily closed a stretch of Pacific Boulevard between 45th Street and Vernon Avenue.
