KCRA 3 mural celebrating 70 years of service nears completion

ACTIONS, AND EACH PERSON RECEIVED A SPECIAL COIN. KCRA THREE IS CELEBRATING ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A MURAL OUTSIDE OUR STATION. IT FEATURES THE HISTORIC KCRA SIGN FROM THE 1950S. WE’VE GOT LIVECOPTER3 MAKING AN APPEARANCE THERE. YOU’VE GOT THE STATE CAPITOL AND THE BEAM, WHICH IS LIT EVERY DAY THERE ON THE MURAL. DESPITE WHAT HAPPENS BY THE KINGS, THIS IS BY 916 MURALIST DANIEL PETERSON, WHO HAS BEEN MAKING ART FOR 30 YEARS. AND WE PARTNERED WITH WIDE OPEN WALLS FOR THIS. THE IMPACT THAT ART HAS ON NEIGHBORHOODS IS VERY EVIDENT JUST FROM BEING HERE, EVEN FOR A FEW MINUTES AND WATCHING THIS PROJECT UNFOLD, THE AMOUNT OF NEIGHBORS THAT HAVE COME BY THAT ARE SO EXCITED, DRIVING BY THE ALLEY, GETTING AND DOING THE PROGRESS. I MEAN, WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK AT IT, WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK AROUND AT ART AND SACRAMENTO AND JUST THE PEOPLE THAT ARE STOPPING TO TAKE PICTURES AND SELFIES OF IT, IT MAKES A BIG IMPACT. AND IT ALSO DRAWS A LOT OF VISITORS TO SACRAMENTO, TO THE AREA JUST TO LOOK AT THE ART.
