(FOX40.COM) — Law enforcement in Sacramento County is advising drivers to take alternate routes after a serious crash on Sunrise Boulevard on Friday evening.

Around 5:30 p.m., the Rancho Cordova Police Department responded to Sunrise Boulevard southbound between Trade Center and Sun Center for a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital with major injuries, where he later died.
