Lane reductions and ramp shutdowns near Wilshire and Getty Center Drive begin Feb. 23.

Drivers using the Sepulveda Pass this week should prepare for overnight lane reductions and ramp closures as Caltrans continues work on the Interstate 405 pavement rehabilitation project.

Construction crews will begin work after 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, with closures remaining in effect nightly through 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28. The overnight operations are needed for K-rail installation and electrical improvements along the corridor.

Between Wilshire Boulevard and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive, up to two lanes in each direction of I-405 will be closed during work hours. Several ramps will also be temporarily shut down overnight, including:

Eastbound and westbound Wilshire Boulevard on-ramps to northbound I-405

Westbound Wilshire Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-405

Northbound and southbound I-405 off-ramps to Getty Center Drive

Motorists should expect intermittent delays and consider alternate routes.

The work is part of the $143.7 million I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project spanning from Van Nuys to Westwood. Caltrans said the project is designed to enhance safety, improve mobility, and extend the lifespan of the freeway pavement through the Sepulveda Pass.

Officials cautioned that the schedule may change due to weather or operational needs. Nearby residents and businesses could experience construction-related noise, vibration, and dust during overnight hours.

Real-time traffic conditions are available through the Caltrans QuickMap. Drivers are urged to remain alert in work zones and reduce speed near crews and equipment.
