Oakland Restaurant Week returns from March 12 – 22, 2026, inviting food lovers from near and far to explore one of the most dynamic culinary scenes in the country. Fresh off being named the #1 Best Food City in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler readers for the second year in a row, Oakland continues to solidify its reputation as a must-visit destination for exceptional dining experiences.

Oakland’s culinary scene continues to earn national recognition, with its chefs and restaurants receiving prestigious awards and accolades. In 2025, Chef Anthony Salguero’s Popoca was named one of the Top 5 Bay Area Restaurants by the San Francisco Chronicle, one of the Best in California by the Los Angeles Times and Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants of 2024. Chef Geoff Davis’ Burdell was named 2024 Restaurant of the Year by Food & Wine magazine. The city is home to 24 MICHELIN-recognized restaurants, including Burdell, Millennium, Taqueria El Paisa, MAMA Oakland, and Mägo, as well as James Beard-nominated spots like Wahpepah’s Kitchen, and Tarts de Feybesse. From award-winning fine dining to beloved family-friendly casual eateries, Oakland’s diverse culinary landscape is a true reflection of its rich cultural heritage.

Oakland Restaurant Week coincides with several exciting city events, including: the Oakland Roots Opening Game at the Coliseum on March 14th (vs. New Mexico), the Oakland Marathon (March 20 – 22), and several live concerts and shows at the Fox Theater and Oakland Arena
