SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KOLO) – A California man has been arrested after police say he failed to register as a sex offender.
At around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2700 block of Highway 50 East in Silver Springs for reports of trespassing.
When deputies arrived, they found 34-year-old John Kyle Stevens, who was identified as a registered sex offender. Police say he had been in the state of Nevada for longer than 48 hours and had failed to register as required by law.
He was booked into the Lyon County Jail on one felony count of failing to register as a sex offender and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
