Olympic gold medalist and Oakland native Alysa Liu is back home—and she’s dining in Alameda.
Liu arrived in SFO Monday night after a long flight from Italy. She was greeted by cheering fans at the gate.
On Tuesday night, the figure skater dined at Trabocco in Alameda, where the team surprised her with a congratulations cake.
That’s not the only celebration for Liu, however.
The 20-year-old and her family will be on the main float Saturday for the Oakland Lunar New Year parade.
Oakland also plans to hold a community-wide celebration to honor Liu. The date is expected to be announced soon.
