New high-end market draws early morning crowds with exclusive smoothie and giveaways
Erewhon opened a new store Wednesday morning, Feb. 25, drawing hundreds of shoppers hours before the grand opening. Lines began forming by 6 a.m. outside the high-end grocery market, known for celebrity sightings and social media buzz.
The West Hollywood location along Santa Monica Blvd., near the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard, replaces a former Sprouts Farmers Market and marks the latest expansion of the upscale grocery chain. Erewhon has built a following for its carefully curated produce displays, celebrity-linked smoothies and premium price points.
As soon as the doors opened at 9 a.m. fans were greeted with exclusive offers, including limited-edition merchandise and gift bags for qualifying members. Staff handed out samples and greeted the groups of customers as they walked into the store. One of the featured items on opening day was a new coffee-based smoothie called “Wake up in Weho,” available only at the West Hollywood store.
Shoppers took photos and videos on social media as they toured the store’s offerings shortly after doors opened. The new location continues Erewhon’s footprint in Los Angeles County, where it has become a destination for premium organic foods and lifestyle-oriented grocery shopping.
The opening adds another high-profile retailer to the busy Santa Monica Boulevard corridor in Weho. The store’s regular hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
To accommodate the modern convenience of the always-on-the-go crowd of West Hollywood, the store offers two in-store kiosks where customers can submit orders for pickup.
