AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Automotive supplier Dana Thermal Products is permanently closing its facility in Auburn Hills.
The company notified the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity about the closure in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter on Oct. 8, 2025.
According to the letter, Dana Thermal Products, a subsidiary of Dana Incorporated, is closing its manufacturing facility located at 3600 Giddings Road.
The company said the closure is “due to unforeseen and immediate reductions in customer orders.”
About 200 employees at the plant will be laid off.
Initial layoffs were scheduled to begin on Thursday, Oct. 9, and continue through Jan. 31, 2026.
Dana Thermal Products was opened to manufacture thermal management technologies for automakers, including battery cooling plates.
The facility was supported by a $2.5 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant, according to a 2022 release from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
