SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Summer-like weather returns to the San Diego area as afternoon temperatures soar to the 80s and 90s by Friday afternoon.
Under strengthening high pressure, daytime highs will be warming up five to 10 degrees on Thursday afternoon and then another five degrees into Friday, bringing potential heat records to the region.
Some patchy fog is likely to develop late Wednesday night into Thursday morning along the immediate coast and repeat for early Friday morning. In the afternoon hours, sunshine will dominate as offshore flow develops lightly.
Temperatures will be running anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees above average, with desert communities even close to triple digits.
For the weekend, warm weather conditions are expected, but a touch cooler by Monday as high pressure weakens. Our extended forecast looks for the most part dry.
