Sheriff’s office: Illegal gambling ring in Northern California busted, $1.4 million laundered
(FOX40.COM) — Multiple people were arrested and $1.4 million was found to be laundered in the dismantling of an illegal gambling operation in Northern California.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said detectives began investigating a criminal organization that ran an illegal gambling network and bookmaking in April 2025.
The following suspects were identified as being involved in a hierarchical gambling organization:
Detectives found that Osbourne was managing the operation of eight illegal casinos, with multiple co-conspirators handling daily operations.
SCSO said the locations of the operations were found in residential neighborhoods. This resulted in deputies receiving multiple calls and ongoing complaints.

Deputies documented various incidents related to the gambling operations, including violence, assaults, large fights, and firearms-related crimes.
“Documented incidents associated with these operations included an individual chased while a firearm was brandished, a woman shoved to the ground during a confrontation, and large fights involving guns. This is the type of criminal activity illegal casinos attract into neighborhoods,” officials with SCSO said.
According to the sheriff’s office, evidence suggests that the organization laundered $1.4 million between January 2024 and July 2025.
Detectives executed search warrants at nine locations on Feb. 19 and arrested multiple people.
The following was seized during the search:
16 illegally possessed firearms
Multiple high-capacity magazines
More than $100,000 in bulk cash
Around 13 gambling machines
Over 60 computers used for illicit online gambling
“This enforcement action dismantled a large-scale illegal gambling network operating in our region and impacting residential communities,” SCSO said.
