BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department and California Highway Patrol led a joint traffic enforcement operation on Union Avenue on Wednesday that resulted in over 180 citations.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., the BPD Traffic Division conducted a traffic enforcement operation in conjunction with the Bakersfield California Highway Patrol. The operation focused on Union Avenue.
Police said the joint operation targeted the most common vehicle violations, including speeding, running red lights, and pedestrian violations.
In total, BPD Traffic Division issued 119 citations with six driver’s license violation impounds.
CHP issued 69 citations with two driver’s license violation impounds.
There was also one Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) warrant arrest made during the operation.
