BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department and Bakersfield California Highway Patrol conducted a traffic enforcement operation on Wednesday targeting common driving violations.

The joint operation took place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the BPD Traffic Division and CHP officers focusing on Union Avenue, according to officials.

BPD said officers looked for signs like speeding, running red lights and pedestrian violations.

Bakersfield police issued 119 citations with six driver’s license violation impounds, while CHP issued 69 citations with two license violation impounds, police said.

One person was arrested for a post release community supervision warrant during the enforcement, according to BPD.
