Culver City police on Thursday said two juveniles were identified and cited in connection with an arson investigation at a Target store in the Westfield Culver City shopping center.

Officers responded to an active fire inside the Target located at 6000 Sepulveda Blvd. on Feb. 19, 2026, around 7:30 p.m.  Upon arrival, the Culver City Police conducted an interior search for potential victims but found none.

Officers located a fire burning in the paper products aisle, Culver City police said. The entire shopping center was evacuated as a precaution. Fire personnel extinguished the blaze.

Authorities said they used surveillance footage and the department’s Automated License Plate Reader System, which allowed detectives to identify the suspects and the vehicle they were in.

On Feb. 24, 2026, officers patrolling the Westfield Culver City area were alerted to a vehicle associated with the earlier arson. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Through investigative follow-up, two juveniles were identified as being connected to the arson. Both were transported to the Culver City Police Department, cited on suspicion of arson of an inhabited structure or property, and released to a parent or guardian, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The estimated financial impact from the damage was approximately $1.5 million.
