Jeff Prang to address property reassessment, fire recovery implications in rescheduled breakfast forum
Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang will speak to fire-impacted property owners about property tax reassessment, relief options and legislative updates at a community breakfast event hosted by the Palisades Recovery Coalition.
The forum, originally scheduled for Feb. 28, has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 1, at the coalition’s headquarters, 15233 La Cruz Drive. Refreshments begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by Prang’s presentation and Q&A from 11 a.m. to noon.
The event focuses on tax implications for residents recovering from the January 2025 Palisades Fire, including how insurance payouts, mortgage forbearance and property damage affect assessments. Attendees can ask questions directly about reassessment processes and available relief.
Prang’s office handles valuation of more than 2.1 million parcels countywide and administers exemptions and relief programs for disaster-affected properties.
