Limited-time “artists flea” curated by Barry McGee, Jeffrey Deitch Gallery, and others features Gary Baseman, Tom Franco, and more.

The vacant retail space on Wilshire Boulevard, near Fairfax, has been transformed into a temporary art exhibition, turning a former 99 Cents Only store into an unconventional cultural venue steps from LACMA during Frieze LA week.

The limited-time show, described as an “artists flea,” is taking place at 6121 Wilshire Blvd. and runs daily from noon to 6 p.m. through March 1. Featured artists include Barry McGee, Gary Baseman, and Tom Franco, along with a wide-ranging roster of 100 painters, illustrators, and sculptors known for surreal, street-influenced, and outsider styles.

The exhibition was curated by Barry McGee, Maysorat, Tom Franco, The Hole NYC, and Jeffrey Deitch Gallery, bringing together established and emerging voices in a setting that departs from traditional gallery interiors.

Installations now fill the same floor space where discount household goods and packaged snacks were once sold, reflecting a broader Los Angeles trend of staging art events in repurposed commercial properties, rooftops, and other nontraditional venues.

Blending elements of street art, dreamlike imagery, and experimental work, the Wilshire Boulevard exhibition remains open to the public through March 1.
