So I was like, “All right, son.”
That’s valid.
So I can get behind that.

I was like: “Oh, you know, like, do you wanna go to, like, a Phillies game, or, like, we can go to, like, a Flyers or Sixers game?”
He said, “Nah, Caitlin Clark.”
Well, Philadelphia’s getting a WNBA team- That’s my son aren’t they?
Are we?
I think so.
Not, not- Yes.
It’s, like, 20 It’s the next couple of years.
It’s not like- Yes, I was hearing- right on top of us the next year.
You’re right, you’re right.
They were talking about names for the team, I think.
So bringing in– bringing it back into Mike Trout, Philly legend, as I’m seated next to another Philly legend.
So it is the same issue that’s troubled Francisco Lindor and Carlos Correa.
According to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez, the Angels star is going to miss the 2026 World Baseball Classic due to insurance coverage.
Mike Trout, Team USA’s captain in 2023, was deemed unlikely to win- to be insured early in the process, a source said.
And so if he were to get Obviously, lack of insurance, if he were to get hurt during the tournament without insurance, there would be a massive loss of money in his $426.5 million deal that he does have with the Angels.
So just from a business standpoint and from a personal standpoint, it does make sense.
Mike Trout doesn’t want to participate because if he gets hurt, he wouldn’t be compensated for it.
But again, as fans, it is a little weird not seeing the best players in the world play in the World Baseball Classic, and also just, at least for folks our age, Mike Trout has kind of been the Team USA poster child.
Like, I feel like if you were to ask me who I thought of when I thought of Team USA, I would probably say Mike Trout.
I know I’m, I’m a little too young for the, the days where, Jeter and Griffey played for Team USA.
I mean, those guys are iconic in their own right.
But again, just for me, when I think of Team USA baseball, I think of Mike Trout.
So the fact that he’s not in the tournament, for whatever reason it may be, no matter how much sense it makes, just again, the fact he’s not in it feels so weird.
