On Saturdays, we brunch, but if you want to really do it up, prepare for Bakersfield Brunch Fest. Enjoy some of the best food and beverages Bakersfield has to offer for the early day party at the Kern County Fairgrounds.
Expect bottomless brunch bites from more than 20 local chefs and restaurants, along with a variety of beverages, music and games.
Businesses taking part this year include Curry in a Hurry, Firehouse, Fresco Bakery, Graciana Tortilla Factory, Golden Corral, Headquarters, Huevo House, Jerry’s Pizza & Pub, KC Steakhouse, Maui Pho, MB2, Nothing Bundt Cakes, PB Jack’s, Rancho Grande, Reading Cinemas Valley Plaza with IMAX, Spencer’s, Sonder, The BLVD and The Vault.
Beverages will be provided by local spots Tiki-Ko, Lengthwise Brewing, Temblor Brewing, Great Change Brewing and the soon-to-open Barrelhouse Brewing.
Additional options include Salty Crew Blonde Ale, Bud Light and Michelob Ultra seltzers, Estrella Jalisco, Golden Road Mango Cart, Stella Artois, Kona Big Wave, Beatbox, Ace Cider, an assortment from Dos Equis (lager, margaritas, and original and mango micheladas), Tecate Alta, Karbach Ranch Water and many more.
There will also be nonalcoholic choices such as Black Rifle Coffee, Ghost Energy, Ryse Energy, Alani Nu, C20 Coconut Water and Nesquik.
This 21-and-older festival will also feature a gaming area, retail vendors and a photo backdrop. Music will be provided by NSA and DJ Twentyfourkg from HOT 94.1 and HITS 93.1.
A panel of judges will also sample the offerings and award honors in five categories: best brunch, best creative creation, best hangover brunch, best sweet treat and best brunch beverage.
Bakersfield Brunch Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds, 1142 S. P St.
Tickets are $82.18 in advance, which includes unlimited brunch tastings, a souvenir glass and allotted beverage tastings, or $87.45 on the day of the event. VIP tickets are $108.55 and include separate front gate entrance, private beverage sampling with additional light brunch offerings and private air-conditioned restrooms.

Brunch Fest is put on by AGM Community Partners in partnership with American General Media, which also produces the popular Mac & Cheese Fest, KidsFest, Fiesta Fest Bakersfield and Bakersfield Fit Fest.
A portion of proceeds from the event will go to benefit Apple Core Project, which supports local food equity and sustainable agriculture in the community.
