SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Grammy winner Sam Smith is leaning into the Bay Area food scene, testing out local spots during their residency at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco and documenting their culinary journey on their alternate Instagram account: @samserved.

Smith is currently performing a sold-out 20-night “To Be Free” residency at the newly reopened Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

During their stay in the Bay Area, which began in February, the singer has caused quite a stir with the locals for documenting their food adventures on a “secret” food-focused Instagram account.

Smith has frequented spots near the theater, including Eiji for sushi and Firefly for American comfort food.

On the Instagram account, Smith shared a video joyfully dancing through the aisle, trying out Molinari Delicatessen in the city’s North Beach neighborhood.

From the Outer Sunset to the city’s Chinatown, Smith has stopped and tried a bite from a variety of local eateries.

The singer also traveled north to dine at the world-renowned The French Laundry.

Smith has 10 more shows to finish out their Castro Theatre residency.
