Five people were hurt Wednesday afternoon including one person with critical injuries after a traffic collision on Interstate 80 near Antelope Road, said Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials.

At least two vehicles were involved in the 5 p.m. collision on westbound Interstate 80 and Antelope Road in Citrus Heights, said Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials. The crash blocked the two left lanes on the interstate.

Metro Fire officials said one person was critically hurt while three others sustained minor to moderate injuries. The condition of the fifth victim was not known.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene, Metro Fire said.
