March, that growing-brighter, gentle-of-warmth, spring-sweet month, coincides with the time when many people vow to venture out a bit more, perhaps making a long-overdue dinner date or plans to shop with a friend.

That it is on the lengthier side, following that quickly-wrapped month of February, is another notable quality: March is rather marvelous in so many ways.

This marvelous fact makes it an ideal time for a community-minded campaign, one that will raise funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

That support will shine throughout the month at a bevy of local businesses, with customers of these location purchasing meals, dining on specific dates, or attending special classes, all to give back to CHLA.

Events, too, will play a part in the Make March Matter campaign, which is marking its 11th year.

CHLACHLA

Some of the participants in 2026 include Handel’s Ice Cream in Burbank and Los Feliz — order the Fish Bait Sundae and know that 20% of sales will be donated to CHLA — and Tiki Kai in Hermosa Beach; order a Baked Alaska dessert to aid the effort (a portion of sales will be donated to CHLA).

An array of heartwarming happenings, including select Eataly cooking classes, a Veronica Beard shopping event, and the Trojan Dance Marathon are also playing roles in the 2026 give-back goodness.

Participants can be found on the Make March Matter site, as well as any specific dates and details you need to know.

Wherever you shop, eat, visit, or go during the month, know that “(f)unds raised will benefit the patients and families CHLA serves.”

Donating directly to Make March Matter is absolutely possible, too; discover how to help on this site.
