FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — One person has been arrested after a chase ended in a crash in East Central Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol says it all started shortly before 4 p.m. when a speeding driver refused to pull over for officers.
They say the driver of a white Honda Accord was going about 120 miles per hour on Highway 180.
At some point, officers lost sight of the speeding car, but then the Fresno Police helicopter spotted it again. As the car was going southbound down Jackson Avenue, officers say the driver ran a stop sign at Belmont, hitting a Toyota Sequoia.
The driver of the Sequoia complained of pain, but otherwise appeared okay.
The driver of the Honda was trapped in his car and had to be freed by emergency responders.
He was not injured and has been arrested for felony evading and causing the crash.
