Missing person found

A woman who had been missing from downtown Fresno more than two weeks has been found and is safe.

That’s according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, posting an update Thursday night, days after asking the public for help in finding the 46-year-old.

Valerie Ray hadn’t been in communication with her family since at least Feb. 9, when she was last seen in the area of Fresno and M streets.

While the Sheriff’s Office was looking for Ray, deputies said there wasn’t anything suspicious in the case. The woman was dealing with personal issues and may have gone off grid, something that had happened before.

It is not clear where or how Ray was located.

Valerie Ray has been located, deputies said in an update Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026. Valerie Ray has been located, deputies said in an update Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026. FRESNO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
