A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Thursday morning in South San Jose, prompting authorities to close a roadway as officers investigated, police said.
The San Jose Police Department said officers responded just before 6 a.m. to the area of Monterey Road and Edenview Drive, where the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Monterey Road remained closed between Branham Lane and Chynoweth Avenue for what police only said was a “significant amount of time” while investigators pore over the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
