Police search for man involved in chase, hit-and-run in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno Police Department is searching for a hit-and-run suspect who led officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash near McKinley and Fruit shortly before midnight on Friday.

Officers tried to pull over a driver for several traffic violations, but the driver sped away.

During the pursuit, the driver crashed into another car that had two people, who were taken to Community Regional Medical Center and are expected to be okay.

The driver who initiated the pursuit fled the scene and is described as a black man in his early 20s wearing dark clothing.

Two passengers in the suspect’s vehicle were detained.
