A 2-year-old died and an adult was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in San Francisco on Friday night, the police department said.
Police said officers responded to the area of 4th and Channel streets at around 8:55 p.m. regarding a crash.
There, it was determined a driver struck an adult and a 2-year-old child who were crossing the street, according to authorities.
The victims were taken to the hospital, where police said the 2-year-old was declared dead while the adult was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The police department said the driver remained on scene. They ask anyone with information to contact them at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
