LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech baseball continues to make its 0-3 start to the season a distant memory. Saturday at Dan Law Field, they earned their seventh-straight win while downing the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners 14-3.
Going into the bottom of the fifth, the game was actually tied 3-3. From there, the Red Raiders exploded for an 11-run inning and safely pulled away for the win. Third-baseman Connor Shouse started off the scoring parade, while bringing home centerfielder Jesse Rusinek- one of Shouse’s four RBIs in the game.
Lukas Pirko earned his second win of the year, allowing three hits and one earned run during his five innings on the plate. He also struck out four Roadrunner batters.
Tech will look for the sweep against CSU Bakersfield Sunday morning with the first pitch set for 11 a.m.
