TERRORISM, AND WE WANT THE WORLD TO PAY ATTENTION AND BE WITH US. KCRA 3’S ANAHITA JAFARY IS IN THE STUDIO TONIGHT. SO, ANAHITA, YOU SPOKE WITH IRANIAN AMERICANS HERE AT HOME WHO SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT’S DECISION TO STRIKE IRAN? YEAH. SEE, SO MANY IRANIAN AMERICANS WE SPOKE WITH SAY THEY SUPPORT THE ACTION AND WANT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND WHY THEY BELIEVE IT WAS NECESSARY. THEY TOLD US THEY SEE IT AS A RESPONSE TO YEARS OF CONFLICT. FOR MANY IRANIANS HERE AND OVERSEAS, THIS MOMENT IS SOMETHING THEY HAVE BEEN HOPING TO SEE FOR DECADES. IT’S SIMPLE. WE GOT RID OF MIDDLE EASTERN HITLER, A DREAM THAT NIMA NABAVIAN HAS BEEN HOLDING ON TO SINCE CHILDHOOD. UNABLE TO RETURN TO THE PLACE HE ONCE CALLED HOME. IT’S BEEN REALLY DIFFICULT FOR QUITE SOME TIME. YOU KNOW, I HAVEN’T SEEN MY FAMILY FOR OVER 17 YEARS, AND THIS MIGHT BE THE OPPORTUNITY WE ACTUALLY DO GET TO SEE THEM. AN OPPORTUNITY SOME IRANIAN AMERICANS SAY THEY NEVER THOUGHT THEY’D SEE. RIGHT NOW, EVEN LIKE MY OWN FAMILY MEMBERS ARE OUT IN THE STREETS LIKE CELEBRATING. THERE’S FIREWORKS GOING ON. THEY’RE DANCING. RIGHT. AND LIKE, TO THEM, THIS IS THEIR V-E DAY. AS TENSIONS RISE, THE BIG QUESTION REMAINS WHAT COMES NEXT? WE TURNED TO AN EXPERT TO FIND OUT. BASICALLY, FOR THE FIRST TIME, IRAN IS PEOPLE FEELING FREE. AND THAT’S. I HOPE THEY CAN KEEP THIS GOING ON. AS PRESIDENT TRUMP SAID, YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE TIME THAT PEOPLE WILL TAKE THEIR COUNTRY BACK. DOCTOR, ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT ANY BACKLASH FROM IRAN? I DON’T THINK SO, BECAUSE MAJORITY OF IRANIAN PEOPLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, THEY DON’T LIKE THIS. THE IDEOLOGY OF THIS REGIME. OTHERS AGREE. AND I THINK AFTER TODAY’S ATTACK, THE IRANIAN REGIME HAS BEEN A LOT WEAKER THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN. AND NOW IS THE TIME FOR THE IRANIAN PEOPLE TO RISE UP AGAINST THE REGIME AND FINALLY TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY AFTER 47 YEARS. SUPPORTERS SAY THEY WANT REZA PAHLAVI, THE SON OF IRAN’S FORMER KING, TO RETURN AND HELP GUIDE IRAN AFTER THE CURRENT REGIME. JAVID SHAH. LONG LIVE THE KING IN REFERENCE TO THE NEXT KING IN LINE. REZA PAHLAVI I WAS RELIEVED. I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE PEOPLE. AND BECAUSE WE DON’T WANT PEOPLE TO GET INJURED. THEY LOSE THEIR LIVES. BUT IT WAS NO OTHER WAY TO DO IT. WHILE OPINIONS REMAIN DEEPLY DIVIDED, SUPPORTERS WE SPOKE WITH SAY THEY ARE HOPEFUL FOR CHANGE. BUT LIKE MANY WATCHING CLOSELY, THEY KNOW
