BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died after being struck by two vehicles on Baker Street as 59-year-old Robert James Lambert.
According to Bakersfield Police, officers were called out at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday night to the 700 block of Baker Street for reports of a man in the roadway.
Police said when officers arrived, they found a man lying injured in the road.

He was taken to the hospital and later died. He was later identified as Lambert.
Police said after an investigation, they determined that the man was walking in the road, outside of a crosswalk, when he was hit by a Chevrolet truck.
He was then struck a second time by a Nissan sedan.
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Police said driver impairment is not a factor in the crash.
