A 37-year-old Inland Empire man accused of molesting a teenager was arrested earlier this month, police announced Wednesday.

Authorities were first alerted to the allegations against 37-year-old Joshua Richie of Murrieta on Oct. 8, the Murrieta Police Department stated in a Facebook post Wednesday.

During the course of the investigation, detectives found evidence linking Richie to the minor, but did not provide any further details about the allegations.

Richie was arrested two days after the sexual offense report was made.

He was booked on suspicion of sexual battery and annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18.

“The investigation remains active, and detectives believe there may be additional victims,” police said.

Anyone who believes they were victimized by Richie or has information relevant to the case was urged to contact Detective Nathaniel Campbell at 951-461-6307 or by email at ncampbell@murrietaca.gov.
