If you’re looking to get your kids outside and unplugged this summer, Outdoor Discovery Camps with Oakland County Parks offer the perfect mix of adventure, learning, and classic camp fun.

Designed for children ages 6–11, these week-long summer day camps immerse kids in the wonders of nature through hands-on exploration and themed outdoor activities. Camps are hosted at three county parks — Independence Oaks County Park, Red Oaks County Park, and Waterford Oaks County Park — giving families across Metro Detroit convenient options. Each week features a different nature theme, so campers can sign up for just one week or fill their entire summer with new experiences.

Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm, with aftercare available for working parents. Days are packed with trail adventures, nature-based crafts and projects, and outdoor recreation tailored to each location. Depending on the park, kids may try kayaking, archery, fishing, swimming, biking, climbing, orienteering, and more. Detailed weekly schedules are shared closer to the start of camp, building excitement for what’s ahead. Camp rates are $300 to $325 for standard care and up to an additional $70 for after care.

Spots fill quickly, so don’t miss the opportunity to give your child a memorable summer adventure. Camp runs the weeks of June 22nd thru August 10th, register here:
