Major drug trafficking ring with ties to 3 Northern California counties is dismantled

Authorities say they have dismantled a major drug trafficking organization operating out of Sacramento, Stanislaus, and Calaveras counties. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office says roughly 2,700 pounds of meth were seized, along with 1,900 marijuana plants, 107 pounds of marijuana, and 12 firearms. The search warrants were served at homes in Valley Springs, Turlock, and Modesto. Eight people were taken into federal and state custody. One of those people was on a national terrorist watch list, authorities said.
