Newly submitted evidence is being reviewed by prosecutors in the investigation into a altercation involving “24” actor Kiefer Sutherland and a rideshare driver in Hollywood, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told NBC4 Investigates.

Sutherland was arrested in January on suspicion of felony criminal threats after a report of an assault involving a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood. The driver did not require medical treatment, police said.

Law enforcement sources told NBC4 the new evidence is about Sutherland’s location before the altercation. Details about the 59-year-old actor’s location were not immediately available.

“Our office is reviewing newly submitted evidence and the matter is under review,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement. “We have no further comment as the investigation is ongoing.”

Prosecutors earlier sent the case back to the police for further investigation.

Kiefer Sutherland was arrested on Monday, Jan. 12, after he was accused of assaulting a ride-share driver, according to Los Angeles police.

Jail records indicated Sutherland was released from custody a few hours after his arrest on a $50,000 bond.

NBCLA has reached out to Sutherland’s representatives for comment.
