A woman made a dramatic escape early Tuesday after flames erupted inside a two‑story fourplex in Los Angeles’ Historic South‑Central neighborhood.
Firefighters rushed to the 200 block of West 43rd Street around 1:40 a.m. after reports that people might be trapped inside the burning building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Neighbors directed crews to a woman who had jumped from a second‑story window onto a small roof area, news video service KNN reported.

Meanwhile, crews attacked the flames both inside the building and through roof ventilation, the department said.
More than 60 firefighters knocked down the fire in about 40 minutes. The cause remains under investigation.
