FLORENCE, Ala. (March 3, 2026) – The University of North Alabama softball team recently added a new game to the schedule for this week, as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies will visit Hilda B. Anderson Softball Stadium on Wednesday, March 4.
The bonus games will be free admission to the public. The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m.
UNA did not have any games scheduled until Saturday, March 7, while Oakland had a cancellation and will travel to Florence as a replacement game.
The game will not be streamed on ESPN+ but Roar Lions Productions will carry the game on YouTube and the Varsity Network app. Grant Wakefield will be on the call. Live stats will not be available.
Last year, UNA swept a four-game series against Oakland with a pair of 9-1 mercy rule wins, a 4-0 shutout and an 8-7 thriller that went 11 innings and ended on walk-off triple by Hailey Jones. The fourth win was Ashley Cozart‘s 400th career win at UNA.
There will be no additional changes to the schedule, as the Lions will still play at home Saturday against Detroit Mercy at 12 p.m.
