Expect delays after semi-truck fire briefly closes northbound I-5 traffic lanes

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — UPDATE (11:55 A.M.): CHP said the number one lane reopened.

Expect delays for those traveling north to Bakersfield on Interstate 5 after a semi-truck caught on fire and is causing traffic.

The California Highway Patrol said on March 3, 2026, on northbound Interstate 5 near Grapevine Road.

CHP’s website said a semi-truck caught on fire on the northbound lanes.
