OAKLAND, CA — Police are issuing a warning about a suspected prowler who may be peeping into people’s homes and engaging in “inappropriate behavior.”
The warning was issued Tuesday, along with a photo of the suspect.
Police say at least six Oakland residents across multiple neighborhoods have reported seeing the suspect since Dec. 13, 2025. Other reports going back to March 2025 have also been linked to the same suspect, police said.
The victims told officers that the suspect would enter their yards, peek into their home, and then engage in the conduct, according to the Oakland Police Department. Police did not elaborate on what the inappropriate behavior was.
In most cases, police say, the suspect commits the act after 8 p.m. The most recent incident happened between 8 and 10 p.m. in the Maxwell Park area of Oakland, police said.
Police described the suspect as a balding male in his 40s or 50s. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white hooded sweater and blue jeans, police said.
“OPD is actively investigating these incidents and tracking all related reports,” police said. “Command staff has deployed additional patrols in affected areas to enhance public safety and deter further incidents.”
The Oakland Police Department says that anyone who may have been a victim of a similar incident or has more information on the matter should contact the agency at 510-238-3641.
“We ask community members to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activity, and share any relevant surveillance footage with investigators,” the department said.
