FRESNO, Calif. — No. 8 Pepperdine women’s golf earned a team victory at the Fresno State Classic by 44 strokes, with four Waves occupying the top four spots on the individual leaderboard.

Eunseo Choi (-6) claimed the individual title in a dominant effort from the Waves on the week, as Jeneath Wong, Yingzhi Zhu and Kylee Choi each recorded top-five finishes. Pepperdine’s final team score came in at -11, 44 strokes ahead of runner-up Cal Poly (+33).

Choi’s win marked the second of her collegiate career, having previously won the Silicon Valley Showcase in March 2025. That same event was also Pepperdine’s most recent team victory, as the Waves earned their first team win of the season.

“A good win for the Waves!,” said head coach Laurie Gibbs following the tournament. “Congratulations to Eunseo for three consistent rounds and the win. Thank you to Fresno State for hosting. Everyone had good rounds during the tournament. We look forward to playing next week at PGA West.”

Eunseo Choi picked up the individual win with a 69 (-3) in today’s final round, finishing the tournament at -6 (69-72-69). Choi carded four birdies on the day with just one square on the scorecard. She preserved her lead with birdies on 10 and 12 while making par on every other hole on the back nine.

Jeneath Wong logged her second straight 69 to get into solo second place at -3 (75-69-69) for the tournament. Wong had a more colorful scorecard today, with six birdies in total to go along with three bogeys. She birdied three straight from holes 8-10 to anchor her round, earning her first top-three finish since the 2025 WCC Championships.

Yingzhi Zhu earned a career-best third-place finish at -1 (73-67-75) for the tournament, marking her third career top-ten finish. Zhu carded a pair of birdies in Tuesday’s final round on her way to a 75 to remain under par for the tournament and give the Waves a clean sweep of the top-three individual podium.

Kylee Choi registered her best round of the tournament Tuesday with a 69, finishing even par (73-74-69) across her three rounds. Choi finished in a tie for fourth individually, as she has now finished in the top-five in four of her six collegiate events dating back to the fall. She fired in five birdies on the day, going for a 34 on the front nine before posting a 35 on the back nine.

Grace Anderson also had her best round of the tournament today, contributing to the Waves’ team score with a 74. Anderson kept a clean scorecard throughout the majority of her round, making a birdie on 12 to go along with three bogeys. She finished +12 (76-78-74) to place 21st individually.

Competing individually, Nishna Patel and Irene Kim also landed in the top-30 for the Waves. Patel carded a season-best 72 in Tuesday’s final round, making 16 pars on the day to go with a birdie and bogey. Patel finished in a tie for 16th individually at +11 (80-75-72). Kim completed the tournament in 28th individually at +15 (75-78-78), making a pair of birdies in her final round.
