AIKEN, S.C. – At the second annual “More Than Golf” Invitational, the Oakland women’s golf team earned an 11th-place finish at the Old Barnwell Golf Course in Aiken, South Carolina.

For the first time since the A-Ga-Ming Invitational, junior Lily Bargamian led the Golden Grizzlies, posting a top-30 finish and tying for 27th with a 234 (+15). For the second straight invitational, Bargamian excelled in the final two rounds after a slower start, carding a final 36-hole score of 152 (+6). She recorded a team-high seven birdies and finished with a par-5 scoring average of 5.00.

Fellow junior Olivia Hemmila, who has finished in the top two among Oakland golfers in every event so far this season, tied for 41st with a 239 (+20). Hemmila stayed consistent throughout the three days of play and led the team with the best par-5 scoring average at 4.75 strokes.

Recording her highest team finish of the season, freshman Logan Bentley placed third among her teammates with a final score of 246 (+27). Bentley produced Oakland’s only eagle of the invitational in her final round. This marked her best performance since the Bradley Coyote Classic, where she competed as an individual and recorded a career-best 234, including a closing-round 74.

The remaining two Golden Grizzlies in the team lineup finished within two places of one another. Seniors Paige Scott and Grace Boczar placed 56th and 58th, respectively, to close out the “More Than Golf” Invitational. For the second consecutive event, Scott opened strong, leading the team on day one with a three-over 76. Throughout the invitational, she posted the team’s best par-3 scoring average at 3.22. Boczar remained steady across her rounds, finishing within two strokes of her previous score each day.

Competing as an individual, freshman Channing Hagen finished right behind Scott and Boczar, tying for 59th overall. As the invitational progressed, so did Hagen’s play, with her best round coming on the final day with a 79 (+6) — her lowest score since the Wolverine Invitational in early September.
