A Disney villains-themed land with attractions inspired by Jaafar, Ursula and Captain Hook, could have been part of Disney California Adventure, but those plans were abandoned in favor of Pixar Pier, according to a recent report.
Under the scrapped proposal, California Screamin’, which is now the Incredicoaster, would have received a full villains retheme. The coaster’s scream tunnels would have been redesigned as a giant Jafar snake from Disney’s 1992 film “Aladdin,” and the ride’s inverted loop would have been transformed into Captain Hook’s hook, according to The Wrap.

A Dumbo-style spinner themed to Ursula from Disney’s 1989 “The Little Mermaid” was also planned for where Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind sits today.
Plans for the abandoned project resurfaced in The Wrap’s reporting on Walt Disney Imagineering being sent “back to the drawing board” on a separate Villains Land currently in development for Florida’s Magic Kingdom.

The Florida project is being reworked with “bolder, bigger ideas,” according to the outlet.
Early plans for the Magic Kingdom land included a Maleficent-themed thrill coaster and a restaurant inspired by Madam Medusa from Disney’s 1977 animated film “The Rescuers,” The Wrap reported.
Revised concepts now include a Maleficent-themed indoor water ride, a family coaster based on Yzma and Kronk from 2000’s “The Emperor’s New Groove,” a Hades-themed dinner show and the Ursula spinning ride.
“As the saying goes, no good idea at Walt Disney Imagineering ever goes away,” The Wrap wrote.
